Zoning for Community Engagement

Studies have shown that schools with engaged parents and community are safer.  SCUSD is working on regaining the intimacy from days past when schools were community-based because teachers and staff all lived in the same community as the school itself.  SCUSD campuses will include space to connect community resources to support student learning and well-being. These spaces will support programs to support parents, establish school-to-home and home-to-school communication; extend children’s learning in home and community and meaningful participation opportunities to create a sense of belonging for all.
