Facilities Condition Assessment and Facilities Master Plan

Secure Campus Perimeter

Is the campus perimeter secured and well lit? Are buildings themselves serving as edges to minimize fencing?

Strategies will include:

  • When possible, use buildings as the campus edge instead of fences and keep the campus exterior sight lines open.
  • Use the Welcome Center and Admin as a control point, providing staff with eyes on the street and the security vestibule
  • 6' high perimeter fencing where needed and to replace lower fencing
  • One single point of entry during school time (multiple supervised entries OK when students arrive and leave)
  • Electronic keypads and keycards at gates
  • Ensure gates meet exit code for the school population to exit safely once they are outside and locating adequately sized on-campus safe dispersal areas
