California Middle School

California Middle School, in the heart of Land Park, is a perfect representation of the diversity of Sacramento, blending all socio-economic backgrounds into a cohesive, rigorous and relevant educational program.  California Middle School provides an environment where all children are able to meet and exceed their academic potential.

Our mission at California Middle School is to provide students with a rigorous, relevant and engaging curriculum, thereby creating a community where students are empowered to think critically and acquire the skills they need to be college and career ready.

Neighborhood students make up about 75% of Cal’s population. Students moving into our attendance area have priority to attend Cal, and can register at any time with a valid address at the SCUSD Enrollment Center. Students who have been continually living in the neighborhood will simply be rolled over from their elementary school after 6th grade into Cal for 7th grade.
